On the face of it:
A sig has been released on the Black books which details good pay for mercs willing to hit and derail a cargo container ship without asking questions.
Black Flag, an out-world pirate corp has apparently gotten their hands on some juicy info.
Paz, a fixer based on Helios says that a connect of his managed to pick up the info from someone they know at Red Flag. The rats have since taken down and deleted the listing, but the connect managed to get in touch before they did. He says they likely didn’t put 2 and 2 together at first, and when they realised how juicy the haul was didn’t want too many eyes on it.
The target is an Orbit-Hauler.
Apparently there is ‘high-value’ cargo on board that is of a high intel security rating to the corpos.
As is usually the case with these sorts of things, this means that EAST will be tipped off, and the hauler cargo will waved through the ILO/ELO gates, unmonitored.
There are hundreds of these freighters moving any given day, so someone watching would have no idea if a ship is being monitored or not. Inside information would be required.
But paz has the coordinates and time the ship will be in transit. The most remote spot can be chosen where an attack might be optimal.
The twist?
The attack was actually originally planned by corpos, and sold to the black flag looking to take out the largest size freighter of the biggest freight corp. The idea is that doing so will start a corp war which will raise the price of CHOO, fuel and commodities significantly, along with their profits.
The mercs doing the attack will not be aware that the colour of their uniforms closely resemble that of the rival corp, and that the freighter they on are their sworn enemies.
If EAST arrive, the event will be televised and the mercs will be assumed a heavily armed corpo kill squad.
